Tony Hawk & Friends

Anthony Frank Hawk or simply Tony Hawk is considered the greatest vertical skateboarder of all time.
Born on the 12th of May, 1968 in San Diego, California, Tony Hawk is the holder of 12 National Skateboard Association world championships in vertical skateboarding, 8 X-Games and 3 Street Style world championships.

When the organization decided to bring this Skateboarding Legend to Portugal (Cascais) it had to overcome the problem of adverse weather conditions endangering the event as rain would make it impossible for the skaters to demonstrate their skills on a slippery ramp. Silvestre Festas is consulted to set up the challenge to cover a giant Half Pipe with judicious dimensions taking into account the distance between the ramp and the top of the Tent to allow the Skaters to elevate themselves freely and show their best moves.
With the help of our Projects department it was decided to use a TFS Tent, one of the largest structures in Europe with 50 meters width without a standing central pole and with a maximum height of 18 meters. The images and Video clearly display the final result!
